sf sewer system overhaul - vigilence
San Francisco city is currently in the process of evaluating the different alternatives regarding the Southeast Treatment Plant. One option on the table is to pump more sewage to the Westside plant for Ocean disposal. In the past few months, activists from the San Francisco chapter have been attending meetings for public opinion and keeping an eye on the city's communications regarding this long-term renovation project.
Essentially the plan is to renovate/upgrade the current system, which will yield a 70% reduction in sewer overflows at the completion of the project in 30 years.
